July 10th, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Lets see wat time is Mobil/Esso and Caltex dropping their price.
Thank god i die die didnt wanna pump alot early this week looking at the fall of Crude Oil.
July 10th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
Finally! But only 5 cents??? The barrel dropped by $12.
If the increase was by $12, we would have had 4 increases - 5 cents, 4 cents, 3 cents, 3 cents!
Total of 15 cents….so petrol companies still owe us 10 cents more
July 10th, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Wat to do, this is the time where the company earns the most.
rise 4 time, high rise, and drops once, low drop.
they will give u discount to buy more time and earn more.
this time, at least SEA HUM, was the first to drop.
July 10th, 2009 at 2:43 pm
At least Shell takes the initiative to reduce pump price, although only 5 cents when the crude oil price has dropped by US$12. I am disappointed with EXXONMOBIL for being the last to react!
July 10th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
Still not good enough la, only 5 cent nia. If they reduce 10cent, i say good job but like that like LPPL.
July 10th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
Yea, i pump Exxonmobil.
not going to pump till they decided to reduce the price!!!
July 10th, 2009 at 3:04 pm
ahhhHH~hhhHHH~HHh i just pump full for exxon mobile…
T_T
July 10th, 2009 at 3:41 pm
Finally, mine left less then quarter tank. Have been driving rather slowly to kill time…..
July 10th, 2009 at 3:44 pm

July 10th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
Wat can u do, or wat do you expect?? 10cents? u wait long long lo! lol
at least they drops better than nothing?
July 10th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
We should support the Station that drop the price first, and boycott the station that raise the pump first. So for this few days, let’s pump Shell and let ExxonMobil regret the lost of Customers like us. Then they cannot tahan and will drop some more. I would expect ExxonMobil, being the operator with the most stations in Spore, to lower price by 7 cents or more!!!
July 10th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
siaomond, from avante right? ya, super suay.. wasted S$1.95 for 39 Litres of petrol i pump jus not lor.. -_-”
oh well.. ya, at least its 5cts, if reali 10cts.. i faint… come on, tink by next week down one more time…
sian, looking at the receipt now.. i pump 2hours too earli….
well.. everyone knows lar… must wait long long for them to reduce price..
July 10th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
5 cents is too little, increased by 7 cents at one go, and when crude decrease by so much only a 5cents decrease??
while waiting for the petrol co to make the right adjusment in price.
these days only pump enough to last a wk to minimize any ‘loss’.
July 10th, 2009 at 4:11 pm
knn. only drop US$12 only 5c!
July 10th, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Really can’t stand all the petrol stations follow Shell in the pricing. No one dares to offer a different price set by Shell.
July 10th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
KOPI SESSION TONIGHT? How abt it? =)
Kallang Mac ????
July 10th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Yeah, most likely if the crude oil drop again next week, the petrol price might drop again if they want to make us happy. At least, the boycott did help a bit…hehehe
July 10th, 2009 at 5:56 pm
dun think e petrol price will drop till aug ba. even e crude oil dropssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
July 10th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
Shell is the market leader, they used to be the biggest player in singapore (until esso combine with mobil). The small fry will not anyhow change their prices because of their small market share. Not exxon mobil has more stations. But they are adopting a follower attitude.
Actually, there is price differentiation. The loyalty system is all different. There are also different credit card discounts. They also offer vouchers every now and then. If you do your sums carefully you can get considerable amount of savings. I think the best deal is now to pump $40 at Esso Tampines ave 9 with $3 (7.5%) voucher and using dbs esso card (13%) getting the smile points(3%). Total = 23.5%. Anyone else can suggest something better?
July 10th, 2009 at 7:04 pm
It doesnt matter who increases or decreases first… its a CARTEL and they sit down and decide together…
Its Anti-Consumer and Profit Driven. CASE is napping on this front
Only the Government can put a stop to this bad buisness practice. But since it brings in more money in GST and Taxes they prefer to ignore it.
July 10th, 2009 at 8:40 pm
hi guys, can i no tt those lorry wit 10wheels are using class 4 or 5? thx!
July 10th, 2009 at 8:42 pm
Soon, pump price should drop to $1.40 per liter since oil price is below US$60. Never forget $S has also strengthen against US$. I expect pump price to drop again in the next few days.
July 10th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
evererin, yea from ACS.
you are the Rio driver with mindbox33 right?

No matter how much they denied, petrol companies in Singapore are operating as a cartel. It just that they leave any traces behind or the Authority is not smart enough to get hold of them. It is obvious, damed obvious… one company increases prices, all follows in a matter of hours, one company decreases prices, all follows exactly to the third decimal place in prices.
They must have an implicit agreement, they know they control the market, they know they should not fight each other so as not to spoilt the market here. The implicit leader in fuel prices seems to be Shell. They just agar agar follow the crude prices movement, no matter how much crude drops, they always drop by 4 or 5 cent just to appease customer so that no one will complain that they are not following the crude price movement.
The authorithy should get their act together and control pump prices, since the anti-competitive law does not works with these clever petrol company; they get away with price fixing by giving different promos like grocery vouchers, etc.; and they said see actually our effectives prices are different.
Since these petrol companies are defiant in their act against the competive law, the authority should set a formula, like how they did it with PUB electricity. Come up with a formula that includes crude prices and USDSGD exchange
as determinants in the pricing formula. Only then will we customers get a fair deal; So that cases like “crudes prices increase by $5, pump price increase by 5 cents and when crude price decrease by $10, pump prices only decrease by 5 cents” will not happen again.
July 11th, 2009 at 1:03 am
We are LUCKY, the oil industry is an oligopoly market NOT monopoly - it could be worse.
It probably might take a few hundred years before it becomes a perfect competition, i.e. by the grace of God, every country starts to dig oils from their grounds, including us in Singapore. Afterwhich I don’t think any of the commenters here will be alive to have our voices heard on this site on how glad we are that prices of petrol is within affordable range of 50cts or cheaper.
July 11th, 2009 at 9:37 am
so troublesome, change CNG la. lol
July 11th, 2009 at 10:52 am
hi Ong…Ironically CNG price is tagged with Petrol price bro.
Likewise, how much gov earn from petrol companies is depending on how well the petrol companies do in SG. Thats where the 3/4tank rule came about.
Thats why our gov dont even give a damn on whatever crook things SG oil companies did as long as they got fat taxes from them.
To add to that, i think the High Ranking Gov Officers (decision makers) dont even have to pay for petrol. So why should they worry? To make things worst, their petrol money is borne by us.
If i can choose, i rather spent the money buy some bananas & peanuts feed to the monkeys.
July 11th, 2009 at 12:01 pm
wat to do… take mrt or bus lo.
July 11th, 2009 at 8:49 pm
ya siaomond, mindbox fren here..sori didnt turn up tat day… Got mu in future let me know ya?
Petrol go down too slow but better than nothing, will drop somemore n end of d yr up again de lar.. Oh well…
July 11th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
I think we need to organise NO PUMP activity more often, maybe next one on 18 July (Sat) to create more impact, just fill the tank before Saturday and all (or as many) don’t pump on 18 July. I think more or less this will create some effect to the bloody suckers.
July 13th, 2009 at 8:05 am
this week should have another round of decrease in pump prices to b more in line with the fall in crude price
July 13th, 2009 at 11:47 am
Oil prices at USD59+, hopefully it drops further….but what’s impt to us is that the pump prices must drop, otherwise JB petrol kiosk will be very busy….with SINGAPOREANS!?! haha….i also very “gian” to go JB and pump….sian…
July 13th, 2009 at 12:44 pm
I am regular JB customer haha …… but i am only familiar with routine roads there ….. Lets go in someday .. =)
July 15th, 2009 at 12:53 am
with the 3/4 tank rule, unless you are driving the lorry, not worth it to go to JB, just to fill up on petrol. How much can you save on topping up for 1/4 tank in JB? By the time you reach back home, you car is back to 3/4 tanks..ha ha ha..this is what friends have told me.
July 15th, 2009 at 9:06 am
adsam …
Hmm true to a certain extend, but am driving a CS3, usually pump around 17-18L @ RM 1.80/L = RM 19.80 = S$8.10 + both toll charge around S$2.40. Total S$10.50.
If Singapore 19L, it would cost around S$31.00.
But taken into consideration that time is wasted, but usually i go in at around midnight … =)
July 15th, 2009 at 9:50 am
knn.. crude drop from $12 for so long already petrol px only drop 5c…!!!
next time go back up $72 will increase by another 20c!!!!
wtf
July 15th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
Now then u know !!!!!
The government dun care, they just hike the price. Anyway, gov tax also what. What do they have to lose……. A few KPKB customers who switch brands & make a U turn when there are better deals at the same company whom they declare, they are going to boycott.
We are now the top 10 most expensive place to live in. So 2 solutions to settle all these :
1. Migrate & leave this country
2. Choose your leaders wisely………………………… 4 yrs once
July 16th, 2009 at 2:53 pm
3. Be computer hero & just whine
July 16th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
I like option 2. but too many gutless singaporeans will still vote for $A$………….()
July 17th, 2009 at 11:40 am
Actually i think its not about gutless ppl don’t want to vote opposite camp. rather its due to the face that opposite camp do not have enough talent to be a functioning government.
July 17th, 2009 at 6:48 pm
actually I agree with some seng,
I am quite gutless as well. I agree some of the lousy garmen policies are downright hopeless.
But at the moment I have quite a stable job
I finished paying for my car.
I have enough cash to pay up for my condo
I have some savings every month
I foresee myself having enough to survive till I die
y would I want to rock the boat? I complain about many policies but will not vote against them if they can continue provide me with economic stability. In other words, I am a lousy computer hero
July 17th, 2009 at 7:17 pm
well even if the opp wins all seats, the garment is still in power due to their smart way of dividing GRCs.
so if we were to cast cast our displease to the garment, they should get the message and come up with better ways in getting our votes back instead of the so damn lame “upgrade project” given to us every polling time which not total FOC either. so I would say it’s casting for a better life to us instead of passing the crap bill to us so damn quick.
July 22nd, 2009 at 11:08 am
hmmmm, good idea, vote against them so they will work hard for the people and not always think of ways to suck us dry
July 23rd, 2009 at 6:25 pm
Well, when ‘they’ give out cash payouts to us, ‘ they take back from another way’.
Well, anyone heard about the 1 month operation on the road against drivers. I just Kenna $500 + $70 + $70 all thanks to the payout…….. nothing is for free man. Expected one. everyone knows but just zip up only.
The hidden speed camera in ECP, after Bayshore , among the flower pots, my friends kenna the trap. U appeal & request to see the pic, pay extra & then they show u prove that u speed. So does that mean we have means to drive = to have $ to pay for payouts to all Singaporeans …………………… Use yr brains……. I have stable job too but zero voice means ‘ITE’ for us & ZERO say……. Pressure pressure pressure them !!!!! We cant deny ‘they’ are doing their job but whether it is enough or just passing them to us is another different thing.
Personally i think more voices to hear us out will be good not overthrow. For the next 16yrs dun think of that at all. OPP need more talents inside to convince us to convert. But for now, i am looking forward to my vote of ‘NOT HAPPY WITH YOU’ !!!!!!!!
July 23rd, 2009 at 6:56 pm
true true, hopefully we will more talents in the opp and less madman like DR CHEE. which sometimes make me wonder if he is a clown sent by pap to make the opp look real bad. cause no sane person will do like what he has done.
