Saw at Esso Pasir Panjang .. DBS Esso Card get 13% discount on-site (not 12%). Also not too sure if they still offer additional $2 off when you pay indoor … anyone tried?
Still looks like SPC $4 off for $70 petrol a better deal …
October 5th, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Hi kia leong,
Thanks for info! I understand that the S$2 voucher promotion ends on 30 Sep and, to my knowledge, they did not extend the promotion..
October 5th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Caltex giving $2 voucher for HSBC
October 5th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Is the Caltex $2 voucher available at any Caltex station? What’s the minimum top up amount? According to the HSBC website, there’s additional $1 discount for minimum $20 at the Clementi station. The discounts will therefore be:
5% - Station Discount
7% - HSBC (minimum $20)
5% - Clementi (equivalent to $1 off $20)
October 5th, 2009 at 6:58 pm
Actually the SPC voucher discount is valid until end of November, not just Oct.
October 6th, 2009 at 1:29 am
Look like now SPC has the better offer…. SPC here i cme
October 6th, 2009 at 1:52 am
Guys why not go for this as Esso?
?» Citibank Dividend Visa/Mastercard
1.5% Station + *5% upfront + **5% rebate = 15% discount
2.*5% Upfront credit card discount
3.**5% Rebate will be reflected in your next monthly billings
4.Valid till 31 Dec 2009
Still the best deal no?
October 6th, 2009 at 8:37 am
Based on current promos, SPC gives the best offer if your tank can take $55 or $70 bucks of fuel.
Maybe Esso have not finished printing their vouchers for Oct, last month they followed SPC on the voucher promo, but only started on 4th Oct.
Still waiting for Esso voucher promo leh, resisting to go to the pump till my last drop.
October 6th, 2009 at 9:21 am

Esso DBS MC gets the following:
5% station, 7% DBS Card discount, $4 for $70 (5.7%), smiles points (3.2%) = 20.9% discount
October 8th, 2009 at 11:06 am
hi axxhole,
Esso Mobil Privilege card even better
5% station, 5% privilege card, 5% dividend card rebate, $4 for $70, smiles points (3.2%) = more than 20.9% discount. Will some smart allec do the calculation for us?
October 8th, 2009 at 11:25 am
how to get esso mobile privilege card? so that means citi dividend plat not good enugh? been using that all along. however, ebrytime want to use the $2 esso voucher kana stopped at the counter saying if use voucher, no 5% credit card discunt (on top of the station 5%) and vice versa
October 8th, 2009 at 6:12 pm
Not true leh. I can always get all the discount at Esso. I.e. 13% off + $2 or $3 off from voucher + smiles point. Both West Coast and the one at Newton circus gives the discount.
October 8th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
dork. Let me try in terms of calculation.
Assume SGD 70 top up
The discounts are:
Voucher -4.00
Station -3.50
Discount -3.50
Cash Back -3.15
Loyalty -2.02
Total -16.17
Therefore total discount in percentage terms is 23.1%
October 8th, 2009 at 8:42 pm
HI Paladin,
I think for cash rebate is 5% of the nett price after minus discounts + vouchers which should amounts to 2.95%
October 8th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
Hmm.. last time $2 voucher for esso I remember cannot use Citibank dividend card.. Now can?

Still can’t use, but can be used with esso mobil privilege card linked with citibank dividend card.
Just with the dividend card alone cannot be used with voucher, its stated behind the voucher.
October 8th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
oic, thanks for clarification!
October 9th, 2009 at 8:34 am
Hi aaa,
This is correct. u use voucher then no 5% citibank discount. But if u use esso privilege, then the 5% is considered as esso privilege discount, not citibank discount, though the card is issued by citibank. So u can use the voucher. I wonder which scholar came up with this fantastic idea.
You can get the info to apply for the card @ https://www.citibank.com.sg/SGGCB/APPS/portal/loadPage.do?path=/global_htm/forms/essomobil/essomobil_cardmember.htm
Or easier, go down to any citibank branches and fill up a form.

In case some of you guys thinking of going to Esso Pasir Panjang … they had just reduced from 13% to 12% (on-site discount) yesterday…
Looks like Esso now has the best deal (better than SPC) … ok going to Citibank to apply for the Privilege Card … Thanks, ALL for the latest update!
October 9th, 2009 at 6:06 pm
Yes, esso esso all the way for me!
October 9th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
btw, you guys heard about the “fuel save” thingy by Shell? They are claiming that their new formula 95 and 98 (not for V-Power) will save you 1 litre for every full tank (which they define at 50 litres).
hmm, i’m wondering if it really works. if it does, it’s a 2% saving.. But then again, esso’s deal is still the best, for now..
