Hi Green Buddy,
Have read about it before…
Have you tried using the “STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner”?
Have anyone tried and noticed an improvement in your engine performance?
Pls share the info….

Hi Aus_share,
The last time i did my 50,000km, they recommend that i spend another $80 for some OWS products from Germany. You can find them on the site link below:
http://www.ows-germany.com/additives.html
Good thing i did not wait at the customer waiting area but went behind to take look at the action:)
Engine Flush 210, Pour in and mix with existing engine oil. Start engine and let it run for ard 5 min so that the mix circulates ard. The whole car was jacked up and i got a good look at the undercarriage
The next thing, lower down the car, switch off the engine and jack it back up again. The old mix of engine flush n engine oil is left to drain completely.
Lower the car and this time, Engine Protector is mixed with the new engine oil by simply pouring the engine 220 with the EssoSuperFlo, 4 liters and shaking it for a good mix.
THis mix goes into the engine oil top up.
The last part which i believe you were saying, is the Injector Fuel System Cleaner. The OWS 360 went in in to the petrol tank of 3/4 full.
Results: The car felt more lively. Fuel Consumption improved to 16 for a while and slowly slide back to 14.5 km per liter.
Then Shell Fuelsave came along and the rest is history

Forget to answer your aspect of performance if you’re talking abt speed, pick up etc.
To start off, my green buddy as i fondly call it, is not performance machine. it has a humble 1149cc renault engine of yesteryear. Good thing along came with it a 5 speed semi auto. i m sure the injectors got cleaned up but no difference noticed except FC. Probably i drive the same way…like this:
save petrol, engage gear 5 the moment car reaches 40km/h
use petrol, more than 90 km/h at more than 3000rpm on highways
burn petrol, traffic light grand prix if the occasion calls for it. red line at 5500 rpm, lose also nvm
hope all this helps. btw, what do you drive?

Hi Green Buddy,
Thanks for the info and reply.
I’m driving toyota vios.
When i did my servicing for 40 000km, i paid $80 for the engine flush, engine protector, engine fuel system cleanup and aircon system clean up. Believed toyota is also using the OWS product.
Initially i can feel my car pick up respone was better, Fuel consumpation improved not much. But now, not much difference as before.
i saw the DIY shop is selling the “STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner”. It can last for 4000miles, about 6700Km. It is 3-in-1 product meant for engine flush, engine protector, engine fuel system cleanup. Cost only $25.
What do you think?
November 30th, 2009 at 12:23 am
Hi aus_share,
I’m driving a vios too! did my 40,000km servicing a few weeks ago where I was being sold by the salesman to do the oil flush thingy.. Lucky I did not take it up.. Seems like more of a waste of money for temporary performance / FC.
Anyway, Shell Fuelsave doesn’t work for me.. My fuel efficiency actually dropped from 11.5 to 10.. How about you? I’m on esso 95 now..
November 30th, 2009 at 12:29 pm
Hi Aus-share and foundation,
thanks for all the wonderful sharing =) seems like we can only conclude that fuel saving products, fuelsave, engine injectors n other treatment goes with the old saying that, ” Results may vary, depending on the make of the car, the type of road conditions and the style of driving.” That’s always the disclaimer!
For Foundation, sorry to hear that Fuelsave did not work for you. See-Hum ran a FULL page ad in Straits Time with a real life person from Xerox claiming that he managed 16.4km / llitre on his Honda Jazz, improvement from 15.6km aft using fuel save!
For Aus_Share, you may wan to check out NTUC Extra in AMK or JW as NTUC also carries a full range of STP products. May be more cost effective than DIY store.
I may try STP during my 60,000km or aft. Not going to authorised agent cos simply need to save money liao!!! Billy Car Care, a specialist for Renault and other French brand is also promoting OWS products. Not sure if there’s any tie up. But to be fair, STP has a longer history, in racing so may be worth a try.
Anyone tried other so called “fuel saving” products?
I have some “supersonic air chargers” installed. That was the time when the car was abt 1 year old and FC improved to 16 plus for sometimes. The air chargers somehow enabled my car to go up HDB multistorey carparks in gear 2, a feat for a 1149cc car.
Cheers! interested parties to discuss further can add me on msn :shiokcreations@hotmail.com
November 30th, 2009 at 1:08 pm
Hi Green Buddy and Foundation,
My purpose of using this product is to clean up my car system, hopefully can last for 10years
Hi Foundation,
I’m using esso 92 and constantly maintain my tyre pressure at 250psi for front and back tyre.
My fuel efficiency improved to 13 or 13.5 km/litre.
FYI
Cheers
November 30th, 2009 at 1:10 pm
I have installed broquet, I can say that it’s worth the cost. I’ve spent around 800+ on the inline broquet and the intake broquet…
I drove my car to Genting, and up the mountain in gear 2 or gear 3… Never used gear 1 from the foot to the top.
November 30th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Hi Green Buddy,
Thanks for the sharing! I monitor FC for interest as well as to do a bit for the environment (kind of an irony, because if i’m really an environmentalist, I would be SMRT supporter, haha)..
Hi aus_share,
Surprised to hear that your tyres are maintained at 250psi.. Because I thought the manufacturer recommendation is 220 for front and 210 for back tyres?
Anyway, I’m driving the new model (2007 model) vios, auto transmission.. Maybe its because of this that’s why my FC is poorer than urs? Possible?

Hi Shell Leader, zhun bo? tyre will burst bo?
November 30th, 2009 at 11:56 pm
Hello,
I think Shell Leader made a mistake. 30 PSI is about 207 kPa. If you inflate to 280 PSI, I think the air pump will explode before your tires do. =)
December 1st, 2009 at 7:35 am
Dear all…
Off topic…
in the month of Nov only, i pumped at Caltex and used my SAFRA card for the discount. In the bill, i noted a new description “12% VOU ADJ MOG”…. an amount $0.36 ( 3 x $0.12) was added. Anyone can explain this transaction or had the same experience??
Am i penalised for using the SAFRA discount??
Thank you…
December 1st, 2009 at 9:21 am
Dec-15Jan promo for SPC is $5 voucher for every $100 worth of ’stamps’ accumulated. You can 1 stamp per $10 petrol purchase.
December 1st, 2009 at 11:46 am
Hey Dude,
what car are you driving and are you using some super low-profile tires that requires you to pump at 280PSI? Your engine mounted or middle like Ferrari so back tires pump 380 PSI?
WOW! Probably i can humbly share my little tad of knowledge aft talking to much hated taxi drivers. I personally saw them pumping 220 all four tires, front and back, so they could not be lying. another uncle recommend 220 front cos that where the engine, heavier, therefore higher pressure.
I do hope pple who post are indeed knowledgeable or take into consideration that different makes of cars requires different specifications. what works for a Scobby WRX MAY not work for a toyota VIOS.
And for all you nice pple reading this, take advice with a pinch of salt. If not sure, it’s better to seek clarification. ARMY taught me this, Don’t ASSume, ensure. If you ASSume and cock up, you’re more cock than the person who offers you advice! Person who gives cock advice,Take 3 extra! Person who listen and cock up, 5 extra!
Probably, let’s just check on sth simple. Does any bro or sis know what the numbers on tires stand on?
e.g. I m using GoodYear Eagle NCT 5 175/50/R15.
Cheers. Festive Season is here!

Crazy… U don go beyond 80km/hr or drive too long… Wait tyres burst….
December 1st, 2009 at 7:43 pm
laugh until pengz
knn.. someone say pump 280/380PSI still got people believe. unless maybe you are driving a lorry or big van.
pump too much air FC improves as less surface area contact with the ground,
downside is
1) tyres may more likely to puncture if strike something sharp
2) poorer braking performance (due to lesser surface area contact with the ground). be ESPECIALLY CAREFUL during RAINY days
3) bumpier ride
so overall, its a balance between good FC and how safe/comfortable you want your ride to be.
Do what you want, but please do not pose a threat to other motorists on the road with your silly actions

hi jamez1311,
pump at caltex using ocbc card on 30 nov. the receipt also shows the vou adj mog…new petrol tax by caltex?
December 1st, 2009 at 11:21 pm
does anyone know if esso is still giving out the $4 voucher for every $70 pump?
December 2nd, 2009 at 7:22 am
Hi new,
not sure the meaning of the transaction…
seems not alot here pump caltex in nov ..
if a new tax… can we complain?
a new tax for using voucher from caltex??
not seen any other petrol companies had that in the receipt…
any1 in caltex can share the meaning?
December 2nd, 2009 at 8:44 am
Just wanted to share what i THINK for the Caltex voucher. If you pumped Esso, You will realise that the $3 is deducted AFTER they have given u all the discount applicable to the cards you are using. However, in the case of Caltex, the $3 voucher is BEFORE the discounts u are given. Hence, they add back the $3 X 12% for OCBC, SAFRA cards then they subtract the $3 off the receipt. Got to read the fine print in the coupons. Then again, why does it matter, coz the voucher promotions are over!
December 2nd, 2009 at 9:28 am
you are wrong dude, the caltex coupon are extended. this morning i just pump at caltex, voucher discount still applies
December 2nd, 2009 at 10:01 am
Hey Shell L*eader,
you never reply to the previous posting leh ? Still pumping 280 PSI front and 380 PSI rear?

hi green buddy,
Shell leader probably realized his mistake already lah. He did not try to bomb all those that were laughing at him. So lets forgive and forget and not rub salt in his wounds.
December 2nd, 2009 at 10:17 am
Stupid citibank, latest bill gave me only 0.5% cashback for petrol at esso instead of the usual 5% for dividend card.
Called in and ask yesterday and they told me they are too bz to settle my small problem. they will call me back when free.
Stupid americans. Conned so many uncles and aunties of their savings thru structured products. Now my meagre 5% cashback also want to swindle.
At dividend card users out there with this problem?
December 2nd, 2009 at 11:14 am
Hi Shell Leader,
do u have the coupon or they automatically deduct for you?
cause few days back i went to jurong west caltex they didnt do it for me.
TIA.

HI Dork,
NO hard feelings, we’re all drivers and the purpose of a forum is all in the spirit of sharing.
i totally agree with what you said!
However, would jus like to kindly point out that this particular person did not admit his mistake. He offered no apology.
and most importantly, they way he put it across, “DUN BE A BUMB BELL!!!!!
‘
FRONT TYRE 280PSI. BACK TYRE 380PSI. CONFIRMED FC IMPROVED” exact words from copy n paste. And the use of the word, “confirmed”, especially in local singlish context does inspire a huge extent of confidence yeah ?
CHILL!

have been using for years, no problem, does random checks…
u have to look at the Bonus Dividend part
their 5% is given — 0.5% — dividend, 4.5% — bonus dividend
December 3rd, 2009 at 11:52 am
Hi Esso,
Thanks for your feedback. I have also used the card for a long time.
For my recent bill, dividend 0.5%, bonus dividend 0 even though I did pump at esso.
The stupid american banker did not call back as promised. Will have to go chase them again today.
December 3rd, 2009 at 2:37 pm
Citiman,
Having the same problem with the Dividend card also. =(
December 3rd, 2009 at 3:22 pm
Hi Citiman and gang,
Thanks for info! Maybe I will stop using dividend card just to be safe.. WIll use esso dbs mastercard for now..
December 3rd, 2009 at 4:16 pm
I’ve been using Citibank Dividend card for a long time now and consider myself a very satisfied customer. I’ve done regular checks and found the rebates to be correct. As esso mentioned, the rebates are broken up into 2 portions:
1. 0.5% for all transactions
2. Bonus rebates for restaurant, petrol etc (i.e. higher yielding rebates)
So assume, there’s only ESSO petrol purchases for the month amounting to $100. This means:
1. $0.50 for regular
2. $4.50 for bonus
For the record, the 5% rebate is only for petrol. Therefore, groceries and other purchases will not attract the 5% rebate.
December 3rd, 2009 at 7:37 pm
Hi Paladin,
I checked my bills every month. Because all stupid americans especially their bankers cannot be trusted. my bills was ok for many months except the most recent. For your info, I received the $0.50 but not the $4.50 for my esso purchases.
Called them again today, and again they put me to some goondu that know nothing about their operations. Told me to leave the number for the second time and they will call me back again. I can bet those assholes wont. they are only interested in counting their year end bonus now to be bothered to call back
Just sad none of our local bank can offer me a card that give as good a discount as this. Otherwise I would have cancelled the card straight away
December 3rd, 2009 at 9:05 pm
Yes same case for me. I got the 0.5% rebate but not the 4.5% bonus.
Was very promptly told to leave my number behind once I told the person I had issues with dividend$ calculation.
Gave me the impression already a lot of pple call them.
For the record they have not called me back either.
December 4th, 2009 at 1:00 am
I also have same problem. The cashback value doesn’t match so I called CITI bank. After checking they replied all transaction from 7 Nov onwards was not capture. Its a error on their system as they had just change the system on 7 Nov.
December 4th, 2009 at 12:11 pm
hey green buddy, go get a life and FO lar. u think chill here chill there got use arr? chill ur @ss and dun act like one big deal drivers
December 4th, 2009 at 12:16 pm

December 4th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
Hi Dragon,
Did they say how they want to rectify the problem? give it back to us next month? Add it to the bonus of the people that screw it up? Bochap and screw all of us?
December 4th, 2009 at 12:57 pm
Hi Crude oil,
Are u laughing at us, people that screwed by citibank, or at the war between green buddy and shell leader?
December 4th, 2009 at 4:44 pm
Hey Dragon,
Thank you very much for your input. At least now I have roughly an idea why the computation was wrong. But they have no called me back in any case. =(
December 5th, 2009 at 8:04 am
thanks citiman!
called citibank, the adjustment will be made on 7 Dec.
seems that they have just sent out the memo, citi should be calling u soon
December 5th, 2009 at 8:36 pm
The adjustment will be made on the next month statement.
December 7th, 2009 at 9:33 am

i am laughing at 280PSI…LOL
