Shell initiated the latest round of increase at 2pm on Tuesday. Caltex followed suit an hour later. ExxonMobil also raised prices.

What is crude oil price now?
How much has it increased to justicy the 4 cents increase?
March 9th, 2010 at 6:04 pm
Haiz, again, crude oil just touch $80, they up again, Their increase do not need justification, no authorities will come after them. We only can LL suck thumbs n pump. Just pump SPC 2 days ago to show support for them, switched from caltex. Hope SPC will hold their prices. Go SPC!!!
March 9th, 2010 at 6:14 pm
i LOVE SPC!!!.. go go spc..
March 9th, 2010 at 6:20 pm
any idea whether SPC raising price??
March 9th, 2010 at 7:18 pm
Haha, 2 weeks ago… when crude oil price hovering ard 80 or 81… they increased 3 cents. (Focus on this statement)
1 week ago, when crude oil price hovering around 80 or 81, the dropped 3 cents..
this week, when crude oil STILL HOVERING around 80 or 81, they increased 4 CENTS!!! (Focus on this statement)
It seems that the 1cents come out from NO WHERE.
Isn’t it COOL ?
March 9th, 2010 at 7:35 pm
it is not just a nett increase of 1 cent. Don’t forget that the cartels also removed all discount vouchers. so the total nett loss for customers is about 6-8 cents
March 9th, 2010 at 7:47 pm
Shell Director Says:
March 8th, 2010 at 5:21 pm

March 10th, 2010 at 1:15 am
This cartel between Shell, Caltex and Esso is getting out of hand! Need I say more??
March 10th, 2010 at 1:48 am
Aren’t they doing price fixing?
Why nobody fine them?
March 10th, 2010 at 7:07 am
when only 3 increase price
the minister would say “cartel is when all the companies pakat to set the price ALL TOGETHER”, so SPC is not, therefore it is not price fixing.
then when all 4 increase price
the minister would say “they are just following their own formula to set oil at market rate, so not price fixing”.
either way they also win.
March 10th, 2010 at 7:41 am

Price of Crude Oil Turns Downward
Crude Oil prices plunged yesterday and continued their fall into the opening of the early morning hours of the U.S. trading session. Driving the price of the commodity lower was a stronger dollar and traders booking profits from a previous surge in the price of spot crude oil. As the New York market opened, spot crude oil was trading lower at $80.42, from yesterday’s closing price of $81.43.
Some traders have been taking profits this morning from the last bullish run that has commenced since the beginning of February. A possible trigger to the selling was the price of crude oil breaking below a significant trend line on the 4-hour chart. A lack of news may leave spot crude oil trading influenced more by movements of the dollar and equity markets. Spot crude oil prices typically fall when the dollar appreciates. The dollar has currently pushed to a new low for the month, with the EUR/USD trading lower at 1.3350.
The next fundamental data piece that could swing the price of spot crude oil to a different direction is the weekly crude oil inventories from the Energy Information Administration. A lack of fundamental factors supporting a rising price of spot crude oil could stall the $12 price rally the commodity has experienced since February 5th. Any further rally may need more than the technical support that the charts are giving, but also fundamental support to show a rise in consumption or potential future demand. Until then the upper resistance line of $84 should contain any price rally.

March 10th, 2010 at 3:06 pm
Support SPC!
great chinese company!
March 10th, 2010 at 3:18 pm
Honestly i not siding anybody, I used to have a feeling SPC petrol is not up to standard so i only pump Esso or Shell last time. Than recently I switched to SPC after the last price increase few weeks ago. After using for few weeks I actually found SPC petrol not bad, in fact i cant even feel the difference. So guess i will pump SPC from now on.

Hi…
Just wondering why use POSB everyday card when it only gives 3% rebate while Citibank Dividend gives 5% rebate for all stations. Anyone can answer that?
March 10th, 2010 at 5:20 pm

March 10th, 2010 at 5:12 pm
Hi…
Just wondering why use POSB everyday card when it only gives 3% rebate while Citibank Dividend gives 5% rebate for all stations. Anyone can answer that?
because, posb cards, give another 5% discount on top of the SPC&U card discount before the 3%.
If u use citibank, not entitled to this. only have teh SPC&U card discount
March 11th, 2010 at 8:57 pm
Very simple way to break this “cartel” hold on motorist…just forget all the “free points” offered by the different oil companies and stop patronisingt whichever company that raises the pump price first…then lets see which company is willing to lose its regular customers…simple as that…..ALL MOTORISTS UNITE !!
March 11th, 2010 at 10:19 pm
I never tried SPC simply becos location is very inconvenient. No other reasons.
Their discounts are not bad.. above $300 can get total 12% (5% on site + 7& SPC Card) but like most said. no rewards points.
With esso mobil i get 5% on site + 5% Citibank CC + 2.9% Smiles Points = 12.9%
Shell is only On site 5% + UOB 3% = 8% for me. (Around 10% with Escape Points)
Caltex Not bad. On site 5% + AA 5% so total 10% (Around 12% with Thanks! Points)
Thats why I using Esso Mobil. SPC and Caltex locations too little. Shell I may give it a try to test fuel consumption.
March 11th, 2010 at 11:31 pm
im not going to care anymore… which station nearest to me pump which one…
Unite what sia… u think they give a damn ? haha
