up 3 cents ? why?
October 1st, 2010 at 11:26 am
Because yesterday while we were still sleeping. over the other side of the earth make the price of cruel oil increase.
October 1st, 2010 at 11:39 am
Caltex try their luck again!!!
with the high SGD now, no way!
October 1st, 2010 at 12:36 pm
well, crude oil hits USD$80….
so I won’t be surprised if they increase price now…
October 1st, 2010 at 1:08 pm
Yup I was expecting this to happen and pumped full last night…
Anyway, let’s hope the rest don’t follow lor…
October 1st, 2010 at 2:02 pm
Not justified as USD is at 1.32 to SGD 1.00.
USD 80 = SGD 105.60
When the price was at USD 76 therefore SGD equal is 103.36 at 1.36 rate.
So 3 cents is not justified. When the price of crude oil drops they only drop 1-2 cents then raise 3 cents again.
What a cartel.

Congrats! Kortex!!
U r the 1st again….
October 1st, 2010 at 3:38 pm
i think the increase rotates between them.
for a 3 month period?
last first-to-increase was shel. now it’s kotex turn
October 1st, 2010 at 4:05 pm
Bloody sucker CowTax, maybe the whole singapore stop patronizing your pathetic station with lousy promotion then you finally wake up and close shop.
If you got balls, stay there on your own while the rest of singapore watch how you get your foot shot again.
October 1st, 2010 at 6:10 pm
I’m not pumping their oil for some time, that’s for sure. Hehe..
October 1st, 2010 at 6:47 pm
so did Esso follow suit? Shell and SPC stilll have not raise the price.. Caltex alway raise the price once the oil price went up..
October 1st, 2010 at 8:06 pm
just pumped SPC @ 7pm due to Bukit Panjang Promo. Price still same. Glad i switched if not will be pumping esso.
October 1st, 2010 at 8:32 pm
F them man, i pumped this evening!!!
October 1st, 2010 at 11:59 pm
Just pumped at SPC Sengkang @ 11.25pm. Price for 98UL still 1.87.
10% station discount for SPC&U Card still on as well. Pay by POSB get additional 5% discount and 3% rebate.
Add another $2 off for $30 fuel pumped…. hehehehehe…….
October 2nd, 2010 at 8:07 am
Wa lau. Just pump last nite at Esso. Shit man
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:08 am
SHELL & SPC, well done for not following them.
October 2nd, 2010 at 12:46 pm
hi bogusguy, you said that price increase is rotated among them but i never see SPC take the lead to increase price before leh… anyway i have switch from Cowtech to SPC liao. I even sent an email to Cowtech to express my displeasure for anyhow increasing price but they never reply. Cowtech really CMI.
October 2nd, 2010 at 2:24 pm
Singaporean are very cooperative in term of money saving, we should spread the words to those who never read petrowatch not to pump cow tags. Let them dig their own graves. Keep it up Shell & SPC, don’t follow the bad boy.
October 2nd, 2010 at 6:35 pm
many singaporeans are too rich and could not care about the few cents differences.
October 2nd, 2010 at 8:35 pm
dork must be from cowtech
October 2nd, 2010 at 9:28 pm
@Pork, i think it is a fair statement made by dork. One of my friend and her husband will pump shell petrol into their cars no matter what. Dun care if no promo or or lousy discount or if shell raise price.
I’m sure there are many like them around, either out of ignorance, or brand preference, or simply because that few cents dun really matter to them compared to convenience or familiarity.
There will also be those who would rather pump up north despite the distance and the 3/4 tank rule.
So bottom line is to each his own. Everyone makes their own choice, and decide for themselves what is best for their rides. After all they are paying for their rides, not the forum member who kpkb at them.
For those that try to squeeze more from every dollar in sg, this site offers good information as long as all members make an effort to share the lobangs they come across. Personally, i’ve benefitted quite a bit from the information posted on this site.
Anyway, i pumped at SPC Sengkang again for my other car this afternoon. 98UL remains at 1.87.
October 2nd, 2010 at 9:52 pm
Aside from Cowtax, the other company we have to watch Esso! I noticed that they are always among the 1st to increase the petrol price. They would jump in to increase the price whenever someone first started. I had switched from Asshole to SPC since mid Aug. I think SPC is more fair in terms of the price. Let’s give CowTax & Asshole a missed!
October 2nd, 2010 at 9:59 pm
i am a guy and dont use kotex.
my rationale is this. if people do care, i expect shell and spc stations to be full and the rest empty, is this the case?
Eg when i shop at sheng shiong, i always use my diners to get additional 4.5%. How many people in the line is using this card? Use mrt card also not bad, but people dont.
October 3rd, 2010 at 11:37 pm
what goes up, must come down.

Not true, crude oil was below $30. it will probably not get there again.
Petrol used to be below $1. it will probabably not get there again
October 4th, 2010 at 10:39 am
till now Shell & SPC still stood to the ground and did not follow to increase just like last time round. hopefully Cowtech & Asshole embarrass themselves again to lead the price increase.
October 4th, 2010 at 11:32 am
Once again I shall repeat what I have posted… Just take your business elsewhere for 1 month or so. Let those who wants to be leaders in price increase suffer the loss of patronage of their regulars. Do not look at those discounts offered via cards etc…just take your business to Shell or SPC and let those who wishes to be leaders in price increase suffer the loss of their regulars.
October 4th, 2010 at 12:20 pm
Hi , I agree with John’s advice when he posted the last round, Essoand Caltex relented and reduced their prices but customer’s confidence in them has already been affected. We have about 8 drivers in our company, small as it may seems…but we have all agree to give the price increase leaders a miss for the month. Multiply that with their friends and relatives…I am sure we can make a small impact.

Well said! Everyone has their own choice. Take the local various supermarkets for example. There are market place, cold storage, giant, ntuc etc etc…a packet of biscuits may cost $1.95 at ntuc, but a similiar one might cost $2.95 at market place. But people still buy. Why? To each his own preference. So no point staging a revolution to boycott this company that company. It doesnt change anything. We cant please everybody….so if u cant beat them, join them!
October 5th, 2010 at 8:02 am
@local petrol sucks & red fto well said. Is really to each his own. Some may like chicken rice some like duck rice & there are some who don’t like rice at all.
October 5th, 2010 at 12:21 pm
we are here not to go against any individual but to look for better deals. if those who choose to pay 3cts more, so be it. based on the 2 forum on this issues, many have decided to switch. intention is to let kotex and assho wake up.
