So its there further discount from Shell, example station discount ??

    Sorry, noob……

  2. yulee Says:

Can’t use 15% disjoint voucher either

  3. Good guy Says:

HI everyone, just realised that there are 2 different benchmarks of oil prices traded in the world.

One is the WTI (Western Texas International) Crude Oil price traded in the USA - most of USA follows this price - it’s now about US$96.
And this price depends on oil stocks in USA.

The other is the Brent Crude Oil price traded in London - Asia and Europe buys oil based on this price.
Currently it’s about US$118. This price depends on oil stocks in Europe and Middle East.

We should follow the Brent Crude Oil price as we are in Asia. Got the info from this article :
    http://blogs.forbes.com/afontevecchia/2011/07/08/oil-prices-brent-wti-spread-above-22-and-here-to-stay/

Apparently, Brent and WTI are moving not in tandem with each other now. If we follow WTI, our singapore petrol pump price should not be moving up and down so much.
Brent is forecast to go up in the short term due to NATO forces bombing Libya oil fields.
My guess is that petrol price will be raised in the coming week cuz Brent jumped about US$4 to US$5 last Fri.

So go and pump full tanks on Monday 11 July !!

    @Good guy Says:
Sillypore always follow the one with the higher price. Now they are follow the Brent.
Maybe have to wait till WTI higher that Brent… they will follow WTI.
Thur…. not dropping of pump price. :) imo

  5. Shell15 Says:

yulee is right on the 15%. I was disappointed when they upsell VPower to me and said all discount are the same and at Shell 98 price. I am a regular 98 and unknowingly, pumped VPower, taking up the offer. Then was told cannot use 15% voucher at Bukit Batok Nature Park station by the cash registerand lady (I think a manager) did not even say sorry on miscommunication but instead kind of mockingly say she would have to pay from her own pocket - like I got any choice…. just be warned. Anyway wrote to Shell feedback form…and found this forum to air some disappointment… not like I can tell them to take back the VPower and put in the 98 !!

  6. red fto Says:

@Shell15, actually, shell does not allow the use of discount vouchers during the Vpower promo since middle of last year. Most of the shell regular forumers here know abt this.

  7. Dave Says:

In the terms and condition for the 15% voucher,it is stated very clearly that this cannot be used when u buy v power at the price of 98. So nothing to argue about.

  8. mohan Says:

@Shell15 Don’t blame shell la. You didn’t read the fine prints.

  9. scmor Says:

    Caltex raised 3c across…

  10. Vouchur Says:

SPC not up yet!!! Shell up already!

  11. woonsan Says:

Esso also raised 3c across at 4pm too.

  12. Linkster Says:

For the Esso Mobil Privilege Card, it is stated here that -> “Enjoy up to 18.4% petrol savings when you link up to and pay with the Esso Mobil Privilege Card”

However, on the official website (http://www.citibank.com.sg/gcb/credit_cards/esso_promotion.htm?eOfferCode=SGCEMPWA), it is stated that -> “Enjoy up to 17.4% petrol savings at any Esso service station in Singapore”

Can anyone clarify which should be the correct discount rate please?
