EssI had also drop 1 cents for all petrol at 2pm

  2. Sony Says:

Shell has only dropped their prices. Think the prices are all the same as usual…

  3. JakC Says:

UOB card and Shell Escape discount tops 17.5 % now till 31 July

  4. yulee Says:

17.5% only for UOB One card - UOB Platinum card only get 15%

  5. ecks07 Says:

There must be 6 donkeys who are either too loaded or just dumb. Why they go and LIKE the fuel increase post??

  6. John Says:

    They probably have vested interest.

  7. Esso MP card question Says:

    esso mobile privilege card question:

“17.4% savings on petrol is calculated based on 5% site discount, 5% Citibank credit card discount, up to 2.9% Smiles equivalent fuels savings and 5% cash back. Cash back earned on Citi Dividend Card has a validity period of 15 months.”

what does this “15 months” mean? doesn’t cash back come to you just so simply? sounds like got a catch.

also, if you read Citibank Dividend Card info on their website, the final transaction amount must be $50 at least, to enjoy the rebate. otherwise rebate is 0.5%. anyone noticed that?

so how much must we pump in Esso to avoid being penalised? no minimum limit for Esso MPCard?

  8. zhouwee84 Says:

Bro… to answer your question…. the rebates from Citibank will be returned to you in a form of a cheque… to get the cheque, you will need to accumulate at $50 worth of rebates. if you do not accumulate $50 worth of rebates in 15 months. all the rebates will be forfeited.

  9. Esso MP card question Says:

how about the second part, minumum transaction value $50 in order to enjoy the rebate, otherwise rebate will drop to 0.5% ?

  10. Dave Says:

Citi has changes it’s T&C for dividend card. To get 5% you need to charge at least $50 else below $50, you will only get 0.5%

  11. Esso MP card question Says:

but Esso MP card has no such $50 minimum spend, it seems?

  12. Edwin Says:

Esso MP card is linked to your dividend card therefore u have to follow dividend card’s new t&c.
It is not difficult to charge $50(after discount 14% at the counter). I pumped 32L everytime and after discount, I pay ard $56.

  13. Good Guy Says:

HI guys , what’s the website address where you saw that you need to charge $50 to get the 5% cashback?
    I went to https://www.citibank.com.sg/gcb/credit_cards/citi_esso_promotions.htm?eOfferCode=SGCPDLNAV
    but I don’t see it.
    Thanks

  14. Dave Says:

They have not updated the citi esso we page but it is update in the citi dividend website. This min $50 is effective from 1st Aug

  15. james Says:

Min $50 for 5% rebate! Just did a quick calculation need to pump $59. After applying 14% discount you will sign $50.74.
This will affect the overall discount if there is a voucher like the current $3 off for $50! Luckily is starting in aug. I need to adjust my calculation to take this into consideration .

  16. sony Says:

I didn’t realise that there is so many “hidden” t&c for Esso MP card. so confusing. so which card offer you the best discount now? HSBC? DBS? UOB?

  17. sneaky asshol Says:

    very sneaky right

    this esso
    and this citibank

  18. be careful citibank call centre Says:

be careful when you call citibank call centre. they may say they will call you back, but when I asked them, the reply was, “depends on who is taking your call”. they said some staff are “not card-trained” and may not record down your message and call you back, even if they say they will.

if you are waiting for someone to call you back as they promised, make sure you take down that person’s name, and also you might want to ask if this call back instruction was even recorded in the first place. what they say on the phone is not what they will end up doing.

other companies like UOB and Stanchart does not seem to have this problem with their staff.

  19. price adjustment! Says:

Caltex just up all pump prices by 3 cents

  20. james Says:

Oh no. Price reduction is so short live. Need to maximise discount to save.

@Dave, is it confirm that the changes is for citi dividen is effective only from 1 Aug?

  21. Kent Says:

Petrol companies mentioned petrol price not tied to brent/crude oil prices when the latter dropped alot, but how come they increased the prices immediately when the latter rises a bit recently? They are the kings, no authority can rein them in.

  22. Ho Says:

Stop talking abt Citi Divi card.

    @price adjustment!

Thanks for sharing abt Caltex Price increase!!

95 is now $2.00 at Caltex…. Shall top up my SPC 95 tomorrow morning before price increase.

  23. Good Guy Says:

regarding citibank dividend card to be used at esso…..
    Found it - it’s here :
    http://www.citibank.com.sg/gcb/credit_cards/citi_dividend.htm?eOfferCode=SGCDLNAV

But they didn’t say that it’s effective from 1 Aug
luckily you guys alerted me at petrolwatch, i was so happily pumping at esso thomson using the $3 voucher and only pumping $50 worth of petrol (paid $40 after discount).
    THANKS GUYS !!!

  24. lppl Says:

The min $50 charge is stated right at the back of your monthly credit card statement, effective 5 Aug Div$ earned will also be credited into dividend card account directly n no more in the form of cash cheque

  25. james Says:

@lppl thanks for the info. Am using eStatement and thus did not read the fine print.

  26. lppl Says:

James, you so detailed in your petrol price computation but how can so careless in fine prints, especially those from the banks be it eStatement or not, that’s what makes bankers all over so rich! Of course still got our oil companies also very rich!

  27. Citibank problem Says:

citibank just started to play this trick. therefore when you want to pump less than S$59 (and therefore you will not get the proper 5% rebate), consider pumping like SPC using POSB card instead. forget citibank since its trying to be punk. the next round they might raise the minimum spend to be $60 or $70.

i bet you, none of the esso station staff will tell you of this change. only PETROLWATCH tells you.

  28. Citibank problem Says:

admin should try to put the S$59 minimum pump value into the website regarding citibank mobile privilege card

  29. james Says:

@lppl, I agree, I shhouldn’t have over look the fine print in the eStatement.

  30. LOL Says:

    LOL…
