Woo hoo! There seems to be some hope! According to reports, Singaporean drivers seeking to buy petrol & diesel across the causeway, will be spared from the ban for the sale of petrol to foreigners - at least for one week. The Malaysian govenment have decided to monitor the ban, which starts on Monday in the Northern States, before implementing it in JB on June 9. Reports have also mentioned that motorcyclists will not be affected by this ban.

The initial ban stated that it would only prevent foreign registered vehicles from buying subsidised petrol & diesel within 50 km of Malaysian borders. But this does not prevent these vehicles from buying non-subsidised petrol outside the 50 km zone. The unsubsidised rates of petrol have yet to be confirmed. Lets cross our fingers to hope for good news in the days to come.
